.....
Malas betul nak update blog these days.
Been on nights, and busy beraya'ing, up to Londres and upnorth.
I thought it is cute - hubster obsessing with aquarium and fishes, and almost drive me up the wall; but didn't we got a great bargain. Puas hati betul dapat this antique chest at bargain price which we used as fish tank stand.
Nights and on-call has been great albeit massively busy (end up to have to use theatre recovery area as temporary makeshift ward).Incidentally when I was on night take, we have all female surgical and medical night team..
I was wondering whether it is something in the air, have quiet a significant number of post-chemo neutropenic sepsis. I even have a lady with zero neutrophil count for at least 2-3 days. I also realise something how protective I was about them, counselling them about dealing with things that you have zero control. I guess it was all to do with my previous job. I so remember a 18 year old with bone cancer, and boy didn't they zap him with such a strong chemo regime to cure him completely and mind you he has to fly over to England and back to the island to have his chemo every 2 weeks, and obviously we had to deal with complications. He had neutropenic sepsis every-like single time post-chemo, bleeding from nose & platelet 3, numerous transfusion, end up getting C.difficile and how I had to call his district nurse to check him out as he almost get into real medical trouble when he refused come to us when he was sick. By the time he finishes his chemo, I think both of us are pretty exhausted by it. It kinda help me caring for me since I ended up knowing him so well, and kind of being able to predict how his bone marrow behaves post chemo.
Courage, my friend, is the word of the day.
