Teaching
Oh, I am just very pleased today.
Had to give a lecture on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia + Promyelocytic leukaemia during today medical meeting. I did get a little bit work-up since I never done a haematology job before; apart from occasional meeting or managed them during on-take or as ward patients. Much of the lectures material did come from British Society of Haematology plus books etc..
It went very well, and I am so pleased that most medical students, house officers and my colleagues, consultants gave a very good feedback and said I made it sound so simple, like understanding immunophenotyping and flow cytometry. J, my consultant cardiologist, as usual making jokes, saying wow, I didn't know you knew all these "dirty" names, referring to all the chemotherapy drugs name that rolls off my tongue eg: alemtuzumab, rituximab, chrombucil, fludarabine etc. Having said that, it wasn't too alien to me anyway, since I was a regular prescriber of rituximab when I did my rheumatology job.
(Really need to teach him how to make a proper joke. Its sad, I knew.)
Feel truly encouraged. I guess I should still pursue a combined teaching and clinical career.
