Superb weekend, new hairdo

I had a superb weekend in Liverpool, which also involved girlie road trip to Blackburn, Blackpool and Cheshire Oak. Plus karaoke night in a Chinese restaurant. Enjoy tak ingat....

Balik London, off to The Tsunami Party. Excellent music stuffs.

Get a new hairdo at Tony and Guy Academy.

Study Huda study!

........................................................................

Quite a few number of friends are getting married and they all getting jiggy with wedding preparations.

I am never a big fan of any wedding stuffs. So malas nak belek all these few details of laces, what colour, what kind of dresses, what to serve people, bla..bla. Even with my wedding, I let mum and dad choose everything. (Luckily my husband pun tara kisah jugak). Their taste is superb. I have 3 different colour of cards send out to guests. Macam grand jer, hehehe.

The way I look at it, wedding is a clebration for family, relatives and friends. Its not really your day. Especially in Malay wedding. Somehow it makes me feel it robbed the romance of the wedding. To me, wedding is the celebration between 2 people who make a vow to be together for the rest of their life. My dream wedding (you can call it rather distorted as it doesn't really worked in real life) involves me and husband in English wedding attire strolling along the beach OR we are on horse carriage or riding a horse jln2x tepi beach. And it will be just us, no one else. That is romantic. Remind me of the time when my husband grabbed me for a kiss in the car when I successfully drive a car from Shah Alam to Kuala Lumpur. And the hugs and kisses when I arrived in the airport to meet him. (Our long distance relationship from beginning to now involved lotsa air travel).

If I was born someone else, I prolly will be the one yang get hitch in Vegas. Get married in impulse. Something that take my breath away.

Perfect!

Finding a perfect pair of work pants (hipster, perfect length for a petite like me, boot cut, fit comfortably at my bottom and thigh)definitely made my day. And it is on sale (half price the original!) Hohoho. It clings at all the right places, and soft material yang sangat selesa. I am so fussy when it comes to buy pants/ jeans (Levi's is a no-no for me. It's cutting doesn't suit me) - it has become a tiresome task to find one that satisfy me! Miss Selfridge definitely has a good fitting for me.

Have our first revision course, and meet most of my final year buddies. Semua scatterred all over North East London hospitals....for our clinical attachment. Some of them dekat setahun jugak la tak jumpa. Semoga all of us passed!

sucks!

What a sucky day! Rasa nak mengamuk je. Everything goes wrong. Stupid arse punya bank, sial betul. Memang nak kena, complaint letter in their way. Aku nak tutup account ngan korang pon, hahaha.

Printer ni pun bangang, lembab nak mampus.

Another complaint letter to write to the most lembab inefficient letting agency I ever encountered.

3 phone ni pon bangsat jugak. Asyik2x service unavailable. Memang nak kena baling kat dinding. Dah tulis complaint diorang tak layan, nak tulis letter kat watchdog pulak la, advertise murah, konon full coverage all around london. Masuk belakang je sikit in WHSmith kat Baker Street, dah service unavailable. Tak ke bangang tu.

Sakit hati tul ngan rude receptionist kat registry. Ptui!

Phew! Mood mmg gila babeng today. So please, no one speak to me at all, all day long. I am a raging bull.

Missing someone

Last night I dream of him. We were at an airport, and we lost each other. Frantically searching for him all over the place, shouting his name like mad.

When I woke up, it hits me. I really really missed him, more than anything else in the world.

Talk to him on the phone, both like lovestruck teenagers. We will overcome this honey; few more months.

Whatever

My mind is all over the place right now. Not good. Fluctuating concentration. The only thing I want to do is stay glued to watching movie, tv. This is what happened when I become indecisive. Nak pegi trip or tak nak pegi, nak buy or tak nak buy, nak bid or tak nak bid (Ebay pasti nye). Petty things.

Is it time of the month?

Yesterday I saw someone eat salad in the tube. Can feel my saliva droolings, OMG sedapnye. So after class, went to buy salad and the ingredients, balik rumah, whipped it together with crayfish and pink salmon and lotsa mayoinasse and caesar salad. Deserts is one big bowl of summer fruit trifle. Its been days since last time I eat rice. I have been craving bagels, seafood sticks, iceburg lettuce, mango, fish and chips.

Btw, no news about Elly's luggage. A bit worried.

An unfortunate event and my travel disasters

This is published with Elly's permission.

I went to picked her up at King's Cross train station last night. I was getting anxious when all passengers have emerged, and still no signs of her. Didn't help by the fact that I left my mobile phone at home (forgot to put it in my bag when I left in rush to Newham Hospital - woke up late!). At the end, she emerged from the train, looking terribly upset. "Huda, I lost my luggage!". We went to customer services, called here and there, come back this early morning to check on a luggage that a drunk passenger from York (Friday night - bad Brits drinking culture) has mistakenly took. His own luggages were left on the train and travelled all the way to London. Turned out not her luggage, so she left to Malaysia with no luggage. I think she is alright by now, and we are keeping our finger crossed that her bags will turn up in near future. Drawing from both of our experiences and customer services advises, bags rarely got stolen. Europeans + British are honest like that.Usually they got lost because people took them by mistakes, especially bags that look identical eg: black bag with wheels!Anyway, still, losing bags before your home flight is terrible!

I have had my series of unfortunate travelling disaster which include:

- Lost my flight ticket home.
- Left my luggage in an airport bus. A highly embarrassing experience that make me cringe every time and drew laughter from everyone who knows about it.
- Stranded in Amsterdam airport, luckily with hubby. Bad weather, and they have re-route our flight home which involve another transit in Singaapore.
- Missed my flight because I missed the check-in desk by 2 minutes. Spent one hour crying in the toilet.
- A custom officer who is suspicious of my new Malaysian passport because he never see one before. I was the only Asian passenger in a flight full of Europeans.
- Having to sleep in airports due to miscalculations of events.
- Bag went missing because the cargo accidentally left it in Amsterdam.

My advice - Calm down. Airport/Train/Buses staffs are usually helpful.

Bored

Sheesh, I am seriously bored to death. Bosannye, S tak datang keja lak tu, kalu tak boleh borak2x sambil browse internet. Muahahaha. Tulis blog at work place lagi tu.

My office ni baru repainted. Punya la terer diorang do their job (seriously recommend this office painter), I sampai tak perasan the changes. Kevin told me just now. Apparently they took down the shelfs and everything masa repainting process, and pasang balik afterwards.. The place is far from dingy, I don't even see why the need of repainting this whole clinic.

Anyway, medicine-wise, I am still trying to work out the exact pathology with this elderly patient I clerked for Friday presentation. History and examination not consistent with any diagnosis, so I am waiting for her old notes to come back.

I met Ahmad's sis, Bib at my current attachment. Of all people, she is SHO in my team. Best2x, boleh cakap Melayu. She thought I am Indonesian at her first sighting of me. Hmm, don't know what to make up out of that.

Anyone up for a party?

There is a Tsunami Appeal Party at "The Bridge" near London Bridge tube station. Any Londoners and anyone who want to go, jom! It going to be fun - ada live bands and ochestra, with (I think) a clubbing background.

I am going with the girlfriends.

The sea bubbles. Reminded me of the story of a mermaid who sacrificed herself for her unbeknown true love. To me, to be able to love someone more than yourself means - Then you have lived.

Off to Bournemouth

I am off to Bournemouth for girly weekend break! Woohoo.

Kevin said I have been to more places in this country compared to him. And he has lived here all his life (apart for Ireland of course). Given the choice & money, I probably jetset to Europe instead. Wait till I earned my own money, muahahahaha... Would love to go to states, but the visa hassles and money of course, so that would have to wait.

My dream - to live and work in different countries. It's just something I have to do, otherwise I think I will regret it for the rest of my life.

Guatanamo bay and another day of commuter hell

I am not sure whether any of you watch "Guide to Guatanamo Bay" at Channel 4 last night, but its content is deeply disturbing. It upsets me so much that I cried for the first half an hour watching it. And I think no one is able to help them. The States has rewritten their so called torture law. Don't think United Nation can do anything either. Clearly visible their debilitating torture methods breached Geneva convention human rights.

Anyway, I am facing another day of commuter hell. The Essex train is severely delayed this morning b'cos some power failure. Let's hope they cleared the mess up by mid-day. Those City workers (who I think 50% live in Essex - try commuting from Liverpool Street) must be really pissed off this morning. Essex is in zone 3,4,5 London, but somehow, I have this bizarre feeling of dissociation between Essex and the rest of London.
